Can Eco Capture AIO M.2 bring one HDMI or SDI source into OBS at 1080p60?
Magewell lists one HDMI 1.4a or one SD/HD/3G SDI source, OBS support and model-specific 1080p60 capture. The review treats the two connectors as alternative single-channel paths; choose the matching included adapter and verify the source timing and M.2 host.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the Eco AIO M.2 a Mac or mSATA capture device?
No documented Mac driver is supplied, and Magewell says Eco Capture requires an M.2 PCIe M-key slot rather than mSATA. A similarly sized connector is not enough; check keying, PCIe wiring, Windows/Linux driver support and clearance.
Explore this need in the finder →Does AIO mean I can capture HDMI and SDI simultaneously or pass video to a display?
No. The manufacturer describes a one-channel HDMI/SDI capture module with one chosen input path and no listed video output. The supplied HDMI adapter and SDI breakout are input accessories, not a second capture channel or a display loop-through.
Explore this need in the finder →This is a specification-led assessment of Magewell's Eco Capture AIO M.2, part 11600, U.S. model listing MFR 11600 / SKU 116000000. It is a small internal capture module with more than one input type, but “AIO” should not be read as a promise that every connector is active at once. Magewell describes one capture channel that accepts a selected HDMI or SDI source. The practical question is whether that selectable input flexibility is worth designing around an M.2 slot and supplied breakouts.
One channel, two alternative signal paths
The manufacturer lists one HDMI 1.4a input and one SD/HD/3G-SDI input, each through an accessory cable or breakout. The product package page lists an FPC-to-HDMI adapter and a 20-centimeter FPC cable for HDMI, plus an MMCX-to-SDI breakout for the SDI route. These are compact board-level connections, not full-size HDMI or BNC jacks on a bracket. Lay out the wiring before buying: the tiny ribbon and MMCX ends need compatible mating leads and enough room in the enclosure to avoid strain.
The card is described as one-channel. Treat HDMI and SDI as two ways to feed the same capture path, not as two simultaneous channels or a built-in switcher that mixes them. This makes the product unusually flexible for an embedded computer that might be deployed with either a camera-style HDMI signal or a broadcast SDI source, but it is not the right answer to a request for two camera feeds. The SDI connector is a source input, not an SDI loop-through; the manufacturer does not list a display output.
What the 1080p60 claim does and does not say
Magewell's current technical table gives each input path a maximum raster of 2048×1080 at 60 fps. It lists 1080p60 among typical capture modes, along with other format-specific examples. A practical shortlist can therefore include a conservative one-feed 1080p60 plan. The table also says that actual frame rate can be limited by PCIe bandwidth and the board's internal working frequency, so a headline maximum is not a blanket promise across every raster, pixel format or host.
The same table includes 1080p75 and 720p120 examples, but the public finder has no 1080p75 or 720p120 choice. Those modes should not be rounded into a different requirement: this assessment does not match the card to 1080p120 recording, 4K capture or a display passthrough request. Separately, the technical page includes a CVBS feature heading, but the product page and listed U.S. package do not identify a usable composite-video connector or included analog adapter. I therefore do not classify the offered 11600 configuration as an analog-input recommendation without a model-specific connector/package confirmation.
Small computer interface, not a regular expansion card
The host connection is M.2 2280 Type M over PCIe Gen2 x2. This is not an external USB capture stick, nor is it a conventional full-size PCIe card that can be inserted into a desktop's long slot just because the board is small. Confirm that the host board has an available M-key M.2 socket with PCIe wiring, the required lane access and room for the cable ends. Magewell's Eco-family FAQ distinguishes PCIe M.2 from mSATA; connector size and a seller's generic “M.2 compatible” wording are not enough to establish the correct electrical interface.
The official image shows a sizable passive heat sink on the M.2 board. That is useful for identifying the illustrated device, not evidence about temperatures or cooling performance. Magewell's family guidance emphasizes case heat dissipation and a core-temperature recommendation. In a fanless enclosure or densely packed embedded system, verify the mechanical clearance and ventilation plan; do not infer that the board can be left in any sealed M.2 bay simply because its package is small.
Driver and software boundaries
The model page and specification list Windows and Linux support, with Windows DirectShow/DirectKS and Linux V4L2/ALSA APIs; OBS appears among compatible software. That supports a researched Windows/OBS 1080p60 arrangement and a parallel Linux/V4L2/OBS possibility, subject to current kernel and application details. The reviewed family FAQ says Magewell supplies no Mac driver for Eco Capture, so a Mac host is not a supported fit in this assessment. The product is not documented for iPadOS either.
“OBS compatible” is a software listing rather than a test of an arbitrary computer, source, driver version or routing setup. Check whether the target OBS version exposes the selected capture format, whether embedded audio appears as expected, and whether the operating system recognizes the card. If this is a fixed installation, the source timing and adapter part numbers should be confirmed before the machine is assembled.
Where it differs from nearby choices
Eco Capture AIO M.2 trades port count for input choice: one card can accept one selected HDMI or SDI path. Eco Capture Dual HDMI instead offers two HDMI channels, while Dual SDI offers two SDI channels and Quad SDI four. Those siblings may be more suitable when independent sources must be captured together, but they do not add an AIO-style HDMI/SDI alternative input. The separately reviewed Eco HDMI 4K and 12G SDI 4K Plus models target higher-raster single-input workflows; their faster mode tables should not be borrowed for this AIO card. A full-size Pro Capture AIO is another different installation, not the same board in another package.
Checks before buying
Confirm part 11600 / SKU 116000000, the actual M.2 2280 Type M PCIe Gen2 x2 slot, the selected HDMI or SDI path, the matching adapter in the package, the Windows or Linux driver, the required 1080p60 source timing and the cooling/clearance plan. If you need two simultaneous feeds, Mac support, a composite input, HDMI display output, 4K recording or a 1080p120 capture guarantee, this evidence does not establish a match. The U.S. listing is used only to tie the model number to a U.S. retail identity; no unit was installed or tested, and no price, stock state or seller experience is claimed.
