Editorial approach
About this capture-card research
We check the exact model and its documentation
Assessments follow named models to available U.S. manufacturer product pages, manuals, support material and technical tables. Similar model names, finishes, board revisions, bundles and discontinued products stay distinct unless the evidence supports grouping them. This keeps a specification attached to the version it describes.
What a review means here
These are source-based assessments, not hands-on reviews. No capture card has been purchased, measured or tested for this work. A manufacturer specification can document a port or a supported mode; it cannot establish independent latency, stability, heat, image quality or real-world compatibility. We call out those unknowns instead of writing around them.
One operating plan, not a pile of isolated checkboxes
The finder only matches a requested feature when the documented capabilities coexist in one reviewed arrangement. This matters for capture cards because input format, recording codec, USB bandwidth, host operating system, application and display passthrough can be linked. Unknown information does not satisfy a required feature. Check each assessment for conditions the available sources do not establish.
Images and evidence
Product imagery is checked against an official model page and visually inspected for identity. Captions explain what a product image can and cannot show; an editorial illustration is not presented as a product photograph. Source links let readers inspect the relevant manufacturer material themselves.
Scope and model references
This library contains 138 model assessments from a documented U.S. source scope: 101 current-reference models, 35 earlier models and two identification-only references. It is not a census of every current or historical product, nor of seller offers. Similar names, generation changes and package differences matter; do not transfer a specification from one model or generation to another.
The two UltraStudio identification references help distinguish historical hardware but are not finder recommendations or buying assessments. Where an exact current configuration, seller offer or host path is not established, the review says so rather than implying a match.
